The Pennsylvania Chapter of ASciNA is centered around Carnegie
Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, and UPMC, all in the urban
center of Greater Pittsburgh. The membership consists of an
interesting mix of longtime Austrian scientists living and working
in Pittsburgh, and visitors (mostly students, post-docs, and
visiting clinicians) who stay in town anywhere between 3 months and
a couple of years. As a small chapter, everybody knows everybody,
and chapter meetings tend to be informal. We occasionally host
visits of Austrian officials. For newcomers, we have mapped out the
city and pass on the knowledge of how to do all the necessary
things, and where to go for fun. Old-timers share the latest
changes and the newest shortcuts they discovered. Please contact us
if you are visiting or staying, whether to just say "Hi" or to
become integral part of the gang.
