The ASCINA Chapter of Greater Washington, DC, which also includes the Baltimore area, is among the oldest ASCINA chapters.
ASCINA DC members work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), NASA, the International Monetary Found, the Smithsonian Institution, the World Bank, University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, Georgetown University, George Washington University, American University, Virginia Tech, think tanks and non-profit organizations. The proximity to the Austrian Embassy has led to close ties with OST, the Office of Science and Technology, which also organizes scientific events on a regular basis.
We meet regularly for scientific and social activities.
Once a month we organize an ASCINA talk, where a member of our group presents his/her current work. In good old European tradition we move afterwards to a pub for a "Nachsitzung".
Every month, on the first Tuesday (with exceptions) we meet at 1 PM for lunch at the NIH, Building 10, 2nd floor cafeteria.
If you would like to receive email invitations to our events, sign up by sending us an email. We look forward to meeting you!
